Events

Below is a list of bicycle related events happening in the area. By supporting these events you are helping the community build more trails, lobby for better infrastructure, and getting bikes to children that may otherwise never get the opportunity to ride a bike without the support of the many great organizations in the Tri-State Area that host these events.

40th Annual Great Pumpkin Metric Sunday, October 2023

The Great Pumpkin Metric (GPM) is a scenic, rural bicycle tour through southwestern Indiana. Cyclists will ride through portions of Vanderburgh and Posey Counties and enjoy some of the best riding this region has to offer. Riders can choose from a 100K, 50K, or 25K route (65 miles/31 miles/15.5 miles).
This family-oriented ride offers challenges for every type of rider. Each route has rest stops with water and food, and sag wagons will be on the routes to help when needed. At the end of the ride, you will be greeted with music and a free pasta bar to give your legs a rest.

O'Bannon Woods Mountain Biking

O'Bannon Woods State Park & Harrison/Crawford State Forest has 40+ miles of trails for riding.  This includes both groomed and back country riding trails (Adventure Trail).  Our event will raise money for the O'Bannon Woods Mountain Biking Volunteers that maintain, improve, and build new trails.  Members of HMBA and Kymba are the sole trail builders.

Ride Saturday and Sunday

We are changing our format again this year in an effort to allow everyone attending to not feel so pressured meeting times to take off on rides.  We learn more and more each year as we get feedback from riders post event.

  • There will be multiple led rides by various groups

    • some will do the whole AT

    • some will only do portions of the AT to save legs for JUMP JAM Saturday night

Last year we had several rides leading out at different times with different routes.  We'll have maps, although making sure you have Trailforks downloaded and our area is key.  If we do not fall within your local area then look at MTBProject as it is still free.

Group Rides

Riding a bike is a blast. Riding a bike with others is even MORE fun! Below you will find a list of group rides.

We are not liable or responsible for accidents or damage to riders and/or equipment at these rides. If you are coming it is assumed the your bike is in SAFE OPERATING CONDITION. (Meaning your brake and gear systems are functional and operate correctly) Also, if you have never ridden with a group before PLEASE research proper etiquette and terminologies for the specific style of ride you plan to attend.

World Famous Tuesday Night No Drop Mountain Bike Group Ride

This ride needs no introduction. We started this special ride with a few passionate riders about 5 years ago. Since then it has evolved into the biggest, most inclusive group ride around with an average turn out of 25-30 riders every week!!!!

New to trail riding? No worries! At this ride we ALWAYS have “sweepers” that stay at the back of the group and help newer riders find their way without worrying about being dropped by the group or slowing everyone down. We also take extra breaks to let everyone regroup.

Still worried you won’t be able to ride the whole loop? No problem! We always take a lap on the beginner friendly green loop before doing the larger intermediate blue loop. This means that you can come and ride a little with the group without being too far from the car and a bail out spot. Only able to ride for 20 minutes? NOT a problem! Everyone is welcome to come ride as little or as much as the can SAFELY ride!

Location: Front gravel parking lot @ Scales Lake Park in Boonville, Indiana about 15 minutes from the shop.

Date & Time: Mid April until the End of August. Ride starts at 5:30pm in mid April and moves to 6pm once the days get a little longer.

For more info visit our Facebook page or call the shop.

Warrick County Gravel Group Ride!

62575763_10104754627570613_7043867878654738432_o.jpg

Come join us on Wednesday nights in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. Rides will be 17-19 miles with just over 1,000 feet of climbing on the hills and backroads of Warrick County between Boonville and Lynnville. We will meet on the side of Bateman Road near Wesley Road next to the cemetery. Try to get there a few minutes early to make sure you’re ready to go by 6!

Gravel, Cyclocross, or Mountain Bikes are required! We strongly recommend 38c, 1.50", or larger width tires for this route! If you're not sure if your bike is acceptable for the ride please don't hesitate to ask us!

YOU MUST BRING A TAIL LIGHT AND A HEAD LIGHT! This ride ends in in low light during the Spring and Fall months.

Want to make sure you know the route incase you get separated from the group? You can view the routes on the “Where to Ride” page on this website. We do #1 and #2 Warrick Gravel routes. If you cannot hold a 13-15 mph pace on gravel (that is around a 17-20mph equivalent on a road bike) please wait until we host a slower no drop gravel ride in the future.

If you like to ride faster than our posted pace feel free to break off the front and ride to your hearts content. Better yet, invite your other fast friends to the ride to ride fast with you! ALL ARE WELCOME on this ride, but the main group will stay together at the advertised pace of 12-13 mph

If you have any questions or need advice on gear come in or call us at the shop! Also please see the Facebook Event page for more info.
